About The Event

QueensConnected in partnership with the Afro Canadian Caribbean Association are hosting a March Break Dance Camp. This camp will introduce children (6-12 years of age) to traditional African styles of dance. The camp runs from March 11-15th from10am-12pm daily. Snacks and drinks will be provided each day. At the end of the week a small recital for families will take place. Do not delay your registration as spaces are limited!

Three full scholarships are available to youth with financial need. Please email queensconnected@gmail.com to share how your child could benefit from this opportunity.

Abena Beloved Green (pictured above) will be teaching the camp. She is both a published poet as well as dancer with over 12 years of dance experience. Abena has had opportunities to train at the University of Ghana, various dance academies in Kumasi Ghana, Halifax Nova Scotia, Ottawa Ontario, and Havana Cuba. She has a passion for creative expression, afrocentric traditional dance, and sharing her knowledge and experience within communities of color.
