Welcome to the Sisterhood Community

Virtual community for Black and Racialized women & femmes to be supported and empowered.

The community is currently closed and will reopen in October

Virtual Gatherings

  • The Sisterhood Community consists of virtual discussions on social and health topics that impact Black and racialized women. Five sessions will take place per year.

The virtual gatherings will provide safer spaces to explore these topics without judgement. Sessions are two hours in length and will be moderated by Naïka Thomas or in partnership with a guest expert to facilitate meaningful learnings and conversations.

The sessions will begin with a thirty (30) minutes presentation to provide context and background. The remaining 1.5 hours will be an informal discussion amongst members on the topic.

Secondly, a considerable amount of time, effort, and Black labor has gone into to developing QueensConnected events and the Sisterhood Community. A core value of QueensConnected is the equitable compensation of Black and racialized labor which is not a reality within society or our workplaces.

However, we do not want finances to be a participation barrier for attendees. There are payment plan options available above or reach out to queensconnected@gmail.com to access the Pay What You Can option for the Sisterhood Community or in person events.

  • Yes, we do not want finances to be a participation barrier for anyone. Please email queensconnected@gmail.com to access the option.

  • The Sisterhood Community is a year long program and not a monthly membership. We do offer payment plans to help make the program accessible but once you have committed, you are committed for the year. After that year, you will receive a renewal email and you can choose to cancel at that time.

  • There is strength in the sisterhood!
