Our Story
QueensConnected was founded in 2018 by two Black female health professionals who recognized a lack of spaces for Black and racialized women to discuss health, wellness, and sexuality. That same year, QueensConnected launched Hamilton’s first sexual health conference for women of color.
From 2018 to 2020, QueensConnected conferences and workshops brought together over 250 Black and racialized women to discuss health, wellness, and sexuality in safer spaces.
Events were paused in the summer of 2020 due to the pandemic. However, the need for safer spaces has increased, given the impacts of the pandemic and socio-political climates on Black and racialized communities, particularly women, over the last five years.
