FAQs

  • Program mentors are diverse racialized women who represent different backgrounds, life experiences, and work within different industries.

The mentorship provided is conversational support and advice. You will have the opportunity to learn about your mentors personal and professional journey as well as ask them for advice and guidance if you are looking for input.

  • Mentorship sessions are not therapy and the mentors are not mental health professionals. If you find yourself in mental anguish and/or distress, please seek mental health supports within your area (e.g. Employment Assistance Program,  Ottawa region: African, Caribbean, Black (ACB) Mental Health and Substance Use Resource List; Counselling Connect: Free Phone or Video Counselling).

Lastly, mentors are not expected to connect you to other organizations or individuals although they may choose to do so.
